Skirret Seeds

A medieval kitchen-garden favourite, skirret (Sium sisarum) was grown long before potatoes became a staple. This perennial vegetable produces slender, sweet white roots with a flavour between carrot and parsnip, plus airy white summer flowers.

Hardy and adaptable to various soils, it enjoys sun and regular moisture. Deep, loose soil makes harvesting easier.
